'She Ready' Tiffany Haddish joins The Academy’s 2018 928 new members l

"She Ready," Miss Tiffany Haddish is among the 928 people who've been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.  She joins Dave Chappelle, Kumail Nanjiani, Amy Schumer and Timothée Chalamet in this continued push by the organization to diversify its membership.  In the 928 new members, there are 17 Oscar winners and 92 nominees.  This year's class is 49 percent female and 38 percent people of color. Should all of this year's invitees elect to join the academy, the overall membership would be 31 percent female and 15 percent non-white, up from 28 percent female and 13 percent non-white in 2017.  Other notables in the new class: Christine Baranski, Sofia Boutella, Hannibal Buress, Emilia Clarke, Taye Diggs, Danai Gurira, Ken Jeong, Mindy Kaling, Daniel Kaluuya, Kendrick Lamar, Olivia Munn, Daisy Ridley, Gina Rodriguez, J.K. Rowling, Jada Pinkett Smith and Evan Rachel Wood.

Last year, 774 new members were welcomed which included Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Donald Glover, Riz Ahmed, Priyanka Chopra, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.
