NAACP Legal Defense Fund's annual "National Equal Justice Awards Dinner" next Thurs, Nov. 1 
at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattan.

Tony and Grammy Award-winning artist Renee Elise Goldsberry (HAMILTON, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks) will perform at the 32nd Annual National Equal Justice Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 1 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) announced today. TV and radio personality Jacque Reid (NBC “New York Live;” “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” “Reid This Reid That” podcast) will serve as emcee.

Goldsberry’s performance will complement the event’s theme of “Justice. Equality. Democracy” and round out an evening of tributes to several distinguished champions of justice: Bryan Stevenson (Founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative); Dr. P. Roy Vagelos (Chairman of the Board, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.); Diana Vagelos (Vice Chairman of Barnard Board of Trustees and Vice President/Treasurer of the Marianthi Foundation, Inc.); U.W. Clemon (Alabama’s first African-American federal judge); and Marian Wright Edelman (Founder/President of the Children’s Defense Fund).

Music by Aretha Franklin will be played throughout the night in honor of the late singer, songwriter, and activist. Additional attending guests are Ta-Nehisi Coates (author); Rotimi (actor, “Power”) and Kendrick Sampson (actor, “Insecure”).
