It’s time to Roll, Place, Press! Roll the die, place that number of treats on the cushions, then press the remote-control button. Did he like the tasty treats? Grouch Couch might grumble, chomp, burp, and eat your treats! When he eats, he’ll spit out Lost Goodies, like that matching sock you were looking for, an old popsicle stick, or even a pair of underwear!

The player with the most Lost Goodies when Grouch Couch plays his final victory song, wins!

Hedbanz (Spin Master Games)

HedBanz, the quick question game of “What am I?” is as easy as Pick, Place, Play! Players first choose from six brand-new colorful headbands (there’s a pirate, a crown, and even a unicorn!) and then draw a picture card from the pile, making sure not to look at the picture.

Place the card in the headband so the illustration is facing all players (still without peeking!) Flip the timer and try and guess the picture on your card by asking your opponents “yes” and “no” questions. If you correctly guess what’s on your card, place a Scoring Badge on your headband. Keep guessing cards until the timer runs out!  The first player to collect three Scoring Badges wins!

The game contains 6 Headbands, 16 Scoring Badges, 69 Picture Cards, 3 Sample Question Cards, and 1 Timer.

MSRP $15.99, 2-6 Players, Ages 8+. Available at Target, Walmart, and Amazon.

Marvel United (Spin Master Games)

Marvel United is the crowd-sourced, hit strategy card game that has Marvel Universe fans uniting. It’s time to become the Heroes you were always meant to be! Designed by Eric M. Lang and Andrea Chiarvesio, Marvel United is a fast-paced, cooperative game where players take control of Marvel Super Heroes and band together to thwart the master plans of the most dangerous Villains in the Universe. With an all-new visual take by Edouard Guiton—brought to life in fantastic sculpts—Marvel United is a visually stunning game that challenges you and your teammates.

Meanwhile, the Villain will roam the city, weaving their plan, spreading chaos, deploying Henchmen, and attacking the Heroes. Only after accomplishing the necessary Missions will the Heroes be ready to directly attack the Villain and take them down for good!

Your strategic decisions determine whether you sink or float, as you make life or death decisions at every turn! It’s up to you to save as many passengers as possible from the sinking ship over the course of nine rounds by gathering life rafts and supplies. Getting on a lifeboat won’t win you the game, however. Save Yourself. Shame Your Friend. How well do you and your crew know each other? Find out with this fun-filled party game! In this game, shame comes in the form of a cone you'll have to wear if you give the lamest answer. Take turns answering personal and trivia questions, acting things out, and drawing pictures as you do your best to avoid wearing the Cone of Shame! If you end up wearing the Cone of Shame, you’ll have to carry out challenges to escape and win your friends’ respect back. Can you do it? The first player to score 15 points wins!

The game contains 1 Cone of Shame, 1 Gameboard, 1 Mover Token, 1 Turn Token, 125 Question Cards, 50 Redemption Cards, 5 Dry Erase Answer/Score Cards, and 5 Dry Erase Markers.

Hot Words (Spin Master Games)

Spicy, Sizzling, Blazing, HOT! In this game, you’ll describe words while the rest of your team attempts to guess them. During each of the four courses (rounds), your team will pick a Jalapeno Card, giving you Hot Words you can’t say.

When it’s your team’s turn, one person will be the speaker while everyone else on the team has 90 seconds to guess the word(s) the speaker is describing. Be mindful of what is on your Jalapeno Card (i.e. words ending with “ent”, verbs or words containing “C”) because these are things you can’t say when trying to get your team to guess what word is on the Word Card.  Continue to pick up Word Cards before the timer runs out! The number of Word Cards guessed will score your team points and help you move around the gameboard.

The team furthest around the gameboard at the end of the meal wins and is named Hot Words Champions. Choose your heat level and get ready for the main course!

The game contains 1 Gameboard, 50 Jalapeño Cards, 4 Hot Sauce Bottles, 4 Team Tasting Boards, 1 90-second Sand Timer, 150 Word Cards, 1 Dinner Bell, and 1 Sticker Sheet.

MSRP $19.99, 4+ Players, Ages 12+. Available at TargetWalmart, and Amazon.

Disney Sketchy Tales (Big Potato)

Disney Sketchy Tales is the drawing and guessing game of telephone sprinkled with Disney magic. Create a hilarious new world as you draw and decipher iconic Disney characters doing something a little bit unusual! You don’t have to be good at drawing to play. In fact, your drawings will go through some funny transformations so the worse you are at doodling, the better!

One player starts the game by choosing one Character Card and one Scenario Card and then doing their best to draw a doodle of the combination. Maybe it’s Piglet mowing the lawn or Aladdin jumping out of a cake!

After getting creative, pass the doodle to the next player, who must write down what they think the doodle is. The new doodle prompt goes to the next player to sketch. Each new player alternates drawing or guessing what they see. After everyone takes their turn, layout your Sketchy Tale journey and get ready to laugh at the turns it took! Earn points for the best drawings and silliest guesses. The aim of the game is to score two more points than the number of people playing!

Disney Sketchy Tales features 60 famous Disney characters. The game contains 40 Dry-Wipe Cards, 30 Scenario Cards (120 scenarios, 4 scenarios on each card), 30 Character Cards (60 characters on front and back), 8 Clips, 8 Pens, 8 Cloths, and 2 Score Cards.

MSRP $19.99, 4-8 Players, Ages 8+. Available at Target and Amazon.

MTV, The Throwback Music Party Game (Big Potato)

I want my MTV! MTV, The Throwback Music Party Game, based on the iconic network, is for music lovers of the 80s, 90s, and beyond (but don’t worry, as long as you’ve heard of a few artists from these years you’ll be fine!). Open the throwback boombox, flip open the cassette player gameboard, and split into two teams.

First, go head-to-head in the Quick-Fire Buzzer Round. One player from each team tries to think of a song to fit the description on the Head-to-Head category card (e.g. “Songs containing the word party”) before the 15-second timer runs out, hitting the buzzer to throw the mic back to their opponent. The first person to run out of time loses this round.

In the Artist Round, get ready to belt it out! Each player gets three Artist Cards and has 30 seconds to get their team to guess all the artists using one of three methods— using just one word; speaking the lyrics; or performing one of the artist’s songs. When a team gets one right, they add the card to their collection. The first team to grab a card from all eight categories wins and has the right to party like it’s 1999!

The game contains 136 Artist Cards, 44 Head-to-Head Cards, 1 electronic timer, and 1 cassette gameboard.

MSRP $19.99, 4+ Players, Ages 13+. 2 AAA batteries required, not included (or download the “Big Potato Buzzer” on the App Store or Google Play). Available now at Target and Amazon; Fall 2020 at Walmart.

Blockbuster Returns (Big Potato)

Blockbuster Returns, the sequel to Big Potato’s 2019 The Blockbuster Game, can be played as a standalone or combined with the original game for big-budget fun!

Blockbuster Returns features four brand-new categories of Movie Cards (Heart Warmers, From Another World, Not for Kids, and Remakes & Reboots) and new Head-to-Head Cards. To play, open up your VHS box, flip open the gameboard, and split into two teams.

First, face off in the Head-to-Head Buzzer Round. One player from each team tries to think of a movie title to match the description on the Head-to-Head category card (e.g. “Movies where someone got lost”) before the 15-second timer runs out, hitting the buzzer to put the ball back in their opponent’s court. The first person to run out of time loses this round.

Triple Charades Jeopardy, it’s time to see how well you know your movies! When a team gets one right, they add the card to their collection. The first team to grab two cards from all four categories wins!

The game contains 100 Movie Cards, 30 Head-to-Head Cards, and 1 gameboard. “Big Potato Buzzer” available for free download on the App Store or Google Play. Can be combined with The Blockbuster Party Game for a mega-game.

MSRP $12.99, 4-20 Players, Ages 12+. Available Fall 2020 at Target and Amazon.
