The first original series from the new partnership Economic Equity and Racial Justice Town Hall - “One Year After George Floyd: Has Corporate America Made Good on its Economic Equity Pledges?” is set to premiere on the platform on Thursday, June 10 at 7 pm EST.

The premiere Town Hall episode in the series of seven is One Year After George Floyd: Has Corporate America Made Good on its Economic Equity Pledges?. Hosted by Manulife, Black Enterprise’s first special is a dynamic solutions-based dialogue, featuring the foremost leaders on corporate issues, business and social justice. Panelists will include CNN Political Commentator Bakari Sellers, Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump, Vice President of Talent Management at Manulife Tara John, Founder of Black Executive CMO Alliance Jerri DeVard, Infor Chairman Charles Phillips, and President & CEO Executive Leadership Council Michael C. Hyter. In response to the brutal killing of George Floyd and the global unrest in its aftermath, corporate America has been challenged to confront systemic racism in the workplace as well as society as a whole. This session will focus on measures for Black advancement based on the series of corporate pledges to deal with past racial inequities. The initiatives include providing more opportunities for Black professionals in the workplace; increasing capital and procurement opportunities for Black-owned businesses; and ensuring corporate accountability to this renewed focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. Black Enterprise has developed a groundbreaking Town Hall Series, assembling business leaders, top corporate, executives, financial experts, and economists to examine such issues, advance strategic plans to close the wealth gap and, in turn, galvanize African Americans to act NOW! In presenting these roundtable sessions, Black Enterprise has also partnered with The Executive Leadership Council (ELC), the pre-eminent global organization focused on developing Black corporate C-suite and board leaders who will serve as the Town Hall series sponsor for the entire series.
