Set in a world, not unlike mid-20th century America, The Vandal centers on Harold, whose tormented search for peace from traumatic loss results in an unexpectedly destructive awakening after he undergoes a lobotomy. When the procedure “turns his mind inside out” and his great love is suddenly gone, Harold’s desperate search intensifies.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR – EDDIE ALCAZAR

Unconfined by genre, filmmaker Eddie Alcazar’s multi-technique approach to visual storytelling is an exploration of undiscovered cinematic territories. In The Vandal, Alcazar coined the term “meta-scope” to describe the intensively layered process needed to achieve the final affect. Meta-scope is a visual technique where the closer you get to a subject the more real it becomes. Alcazar’s unique approach to filmmaking allows for immense collaboration with his cast and crew. Alcazar is at work on a feature film executive produced by Steven Soderbergh.

Alcazar studied VFX and Animation Film Theory. He was named one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film by Filmmaker Magazine in 2011 and one of the best new directors in America by Shoot Magazine.
