Indeed, the world’s number one job site, and their Rising Voices program that aims to discover, invest in, and share stories created by BIPOC filmmakers & storytellers, assembled a top tier group of women of color for the ‘Building the New Future of Hollywood’ panel to discuss the power and meaning of work.
Hosted by award-winning journalist Danyel Smith, the panel features award-winning writer, creator, and producer, Lena Waithe; NAACP Image Award-nominated actress and singer, Danielle Brooks; Indeed’s Senior Vice President of Environmental, Social and Governance, LaFawn Davis; NAACP Image Award-nominated actress, youtuber and author, Skai Jackson; and Emmy nominated actress and comedian, Yvonne Orji.
The 3rd episode “A Conversation on Inclusivity and Better Work” highlights their experiences on inclusion in the industry. Hosted on their YouTube page, the panel also focuses on conversations including Opportunity, Flexibility, and Money.
“It’s about sitting at the table, having the conversation, asking the questions, and then also to talking about how important work is, what work means, what inclusion means,” said Lena Waithe on inclusivity and better work experience.
“It takes one the ask and two the permission- it takes two people being like, we see that this is important let’s rock,” said Yvonne Orji on inclusivity and better work experience.
