Who’s ready for spooky season?

Turns out, a majority of the United States. The following map shows which states had one or more horror movies in their Top 10 Most Watched Movies for the following week. The vast majority of states with a horror movie watched chose to view Halloween

Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and West Virginia all favored the original Halloween movie, making it the most watched movie in those respective states last week.

In other news, Jackson Mississippi, and New Orleans were watching a healthy amount of Sanford & Son

Salt Lake City and Portland, Oregon, tuned into Gold Rush. With season 14 premiering on Friday, the two cities may have been looking to strike it rich early.

The Friday trilogy popped into the Top 10 for most viewed movies this week, and New York and Memphis elevated it to the No. 1 watched movie in those DMAs.
