Awards season is upon us and Oscar submissions are in full swing, and before you know it, Oscar Sunday will be at our doorstep, come March 10 next year.

Wednesday, November 15, is the deadline to submit Oscars® Submission Forms (OSF) in the general entry categories and Representation and Inclusion Standards Entry (RAISE) forms for Best Picture consideration to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 96th Academy Awards® consideration.  Films will not be accepted for consideration after the deadline.

For a feature film to be considered for the 96th Awards, the film’s distributor or producer must upload via our submission website a scanned, signed copy of the OSF and legal billing (complete on-screen credits).  The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. PT on November 15.

While the credits submission deadline is November 15, feature films have until December 31 to open in a commercial motion picture theater in one of the six qualifying U.S. metro areas: Los Angeles County; City of New York [five boroughs]; the Bay Area [counties of San Francisco, Marin, Alameda, San Mateo and Contra Costa]; Chicago [Cook County, Illinois]; Miami [Miami-Dade County, Florida]; and Atlanta [Fulton County, Georgia] and begin a minimum run of seven consecutive days, during which period screenings must occur at least three times daily, with at least one screening beginning between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. daily, to be eligible for 2023 Awards consideration.

Submitting the confidential Academy Inclusion Standards form and meeting two of the four standards is required for eligibility in the Best Picture category for the 96th Oscars.  A film’s distributor or producer will have the option to opt out of Best Picture consideration.  The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. PT on November 15.  The RAISE platform is accessible online at https://raise.oscars.org/. OSFs are accessible online at https://submissions.oscars.org/.  For additional information about RAISE and Best Picture eligibility, contact RAISE@oscars.org.

Complete 96th Academy Awards rules can be found at http://www.oscars.org/oscars/rules-eligibility.

The last day to upload a film to the “For Your Consideration” section on the Academy Screening Room member-only streaming site is December 19, 2023.

Entries in the animated feature, documentary feature, international feature and short film categories are subject to special rules and qualifying criteria.  The submission deadline for these specialty categories has already passed.

Nominations for the 96th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

The 96th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
