The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), the largest and longest-running annual comedy festival in the United States, returns to mark its 20th anniversary, from Friday, November 8 to Sunday, November 17, 2024. This year’s headliners include Judd Apatow, Jeff Arcuri, Dave Attell, Zarna Garg, How Did This Get Made?, Gabriel Iglesias, I’ve Had It, Joe List, Bill Maher, Matt McCusker, Tracy Morgan, Nurse John, Ms. Pat, Adam Ray is Dr. Phil, The Rest Is History, Justin Silva, JB Smoove, Dan Soder, Sommore, Jimmy O. Yang, Jaboukie Young-White, and more.  


Launched in 2004, the New York Comedy Festival has evolved into a premier event on the global comedy calendar.  Founded by Caroline Hirsch and produced by Carolines, the inaugural festival featured a dozen stand-up shows over five days. Today, the NYCF has expanded its reach and impact, producing more than one hundred shows annually over a ten-day span. The festival brings together over 200 of the top comedians from across the country and around the world, who perform at some of the most prestigious in New York’s five boroughs, including Carnegie Hall, the Beacon Theatre, Town Hall, and Kings Theatre. This remarkable growth underscores the festival’s commitment to elevating the art of comedy in all its forms.

 

Over its 20-year history, the NYCF has maintained a rich tradition of showcasing the very best comedic talent through diversified programming.  Beyond stand-up, the festival offers an eclectic mix of sketch and improv performances, panel discussions, intimate conversations with comedy legends, talent competitions, star-studded fundraising galas, film screenings, live podcast tapings, interactive partner activations, and much more. This variety ensures there's something for every comedy enthusiast, whether they are die-hard fans or casual attendees.  By continually evolving and adapting to the ever-changing comedy landscape, the NYCF not only honors its storied past but also paves the way for future generations of comedians and comedy lovers alike.

Headliner Judd Apatow said of his November 9th performance at the Beacon Theatre: "This November is the fortieth anniversary of my start in comedy. I’m so excited to share it with hometown friends, everyone at The New York Comedy Festival and the Beacon Theatre.”

 

In addition to the 2024 headliners, the New York Comedy Festival will also announce additional details for major events in the coming months that have become staples during the Festival including Stand Up for Heroes, New York’s Funniest Stand-Up Competition, Comics to Watch, and opportunities to experience live podcast recordings, panel discussions and much more.
