Telly Leung who plays Aladdin in the hit Broadway show --- ALADDIN --- recommends that following places to eat in New York City. It's a delicious recommendation, yum-yum.
Yakitori Taisho (East Village)
Trevor Dion Nicholas, former Genie standby on B’way, current Genie megastar in Aladdin London brought me here the last time he came to visit. It’s a tiny little hole in the wall, like literally if you’re walking down St. Marks and you blink you’ll miss it. Trust me when I say this-this is some of the best food I’ve had in NYC. A few of the unbelievably delicious barbecued skewers we had here were the Kawa (chicken skin) and the Hotate Bacon (bacon wrapped scallop).
Beecher’s Handmade Cheese (Flatiron District)
So there are only two cities lucky enough to have a Beecher’s Handmade Cheese: Seattle (my hometown) and NYC. Mac and Cheese, Grilled Cheese etc... but the thing to get here is the fresh cheese curds. Salty nuggets of cheesy goodness. Do I need to say more?
Shake Shack (Madison Square Park)

Okay, hold up. Shake Shack made my list? Absolutely it did! For a myriad of reasons, like the Shack Stack. BUT... the reason Shake Shack is even on here is because of their breakfast! Only a few select Shake Shacks do breakfast (the best reason to take the early bird out of JFK) so find one that does and GET IT. I love the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese with a Stumptown Cold Brew.
Being in the city for 4th of July is fun! I’ve heard some of the best views of the fireworks are at the southernmost tip of Roosevelt Island. But if you’re like me, you’ll probably live stream the fireworks from the Disney Parks from the comfort of your own home. Hahaha!
