Central Park Celebrates Spring, March 20
A full day of special events in Central Park and online to help New York welcome warmer weather, longer daylight hours, and the arrival of the blooming season in Manhattan’s beloved green space. Central Park Conservancy President & CEO Elizabeth W. Smith invites visitors to free programming including an introductory birding tour in the Ramble; pop-up readings by Mark Bittman, bestselling author of How to Cook Everything and the just-released Dinner for Everyone, and Nicole Krauss, award-winning author of Forest Dark, on Literary Walk; volunteer opportunities to help prepare the Park for spring; gardening tips from Conservancy staff from Shakespeare and Conservatory Gardens; catch-and-release fishing at the Harlem Meer; games at Chess & Checkers House; and more — brought to you by the people who know Central Park best.

                        Events will take place rain or shine.  

Central Park Celebrates Spring is hosted by the Central Park Conservancy, the private, not-for-profit organization that manages Central Park. The Conservancy’s staff of more than 300 is responsible for all aspects of the Park’s care, from day-to-day maintenance and operations to continued restoration and rebuilding projects. Additionally, the Conservancy operates the Park’s visitor centers, provides public programs, and serves as a resource for other NYC parks and for public-private partnerships around the world.
