For our 20th-anniversary Festival, Tribeca collaborated with Indeed—in partnership with Lena Waithe and Hillman Grad Productions—to premiere Rising Voices, 10 short films from the next generation of BIPOC filmmakers.
Created to discover and invest in diverse voices and stories from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) filmmakers across the US, the program featured mentors Calmatic, Paul Hunter, and Melina Matsoukas.
Participating filmmakers include Johnson Cheng, David Fortune, Stacy Pascal Gaspard, Deondray & Quincy LeNear Gossfield, Kantú Lentz, Boma Iluma, Gabriela Ortega, Dre Ryan, Elisee Junior St. Preux, Shelly Yo.
