Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations |
Well, hello Broadway. It’s a beautiful feeling, knowing that the songs being sung in the Tony Award-winning musical “Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations” is back, and last weekend, the opening night event brought out the who’s-who on stage and screen.
You can imagine the excitement that rippled through the crowd since the Broadway blockbuster was closed for 18 months.
Let’s roll it back, before COVID-9. The musical opened on Broadway on March 21, 2019, and was nominated for 12 Tony Awards, and won the 2019 Tony Award for Best Choreography. This isn’t an easy story to tell because The Temptations’ rise from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was nothing short of miraculous. On stage, the performances include their signature dance moves and unmistakable harmonies.
This group is a legend having risen to the top of the charts creating an amazing 42 Top Ten Hits with 14 reaching number one. Some of their hits include “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Get Ready,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” and so many more.
The return to Broadway is great news for hundreds of people who make their living in the theater, including uber-publicist and “Ain’t Too Proud” associate-producer, Linda Stewart, Owner of It is Done Communications.
