Inside Broadway, rocked “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” performed at Summer Theater Camp !

 

Look at the smiling face of Snoopy, how can you not smile yourself?

This past summer “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” was performed at Summer Theater Camp with NYC Elementary & Middle School Students. The show was to mark Inside Broadway’s 40th anniversary. During the anniversary season, reaching nearly 3 million New York City public school kids since the nonprofit’s inception four decades ago, Inside Broadway brought back its “Summer Stock Jr.” summer theatre camp. 

“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”  

This is based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz with book, music, and lyrics by Clark Gesner with additional dialogue by Michael Mayer and additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, the intensive two-week musical theater camp is available for kids ages 9 to 16, which includes 60 hours of instruction with professional theater artists and musicians, a special trip to a Broadway matinee performance; special drop-in workshops with Broadway industry professionals and culminates in a performance for families. Tuition is available at $600 per child.

 

This fall, Inside Broadway, will bring back its semi-annual Creating the Magic, which will once again bring NYC’s public-school students into a Broadway theatre to learn about on and off-stage components that go into creating a Broadway musical, as a fun, FREE, and educational in-theatre experience.
