Concord Theatricals Recordings Unveils "Songs By An Immigrant Vol. 2" by Jaime Lozano & The Familia
Today, the global stage comes alive with the release of Songs By An Immigrant Vol. 2, the eagerly awaited sophomore album from the Mexican musical theatre virtuoso, Jaime Lozano, in collaboration with The Familia. This musical masterpiece is now available on digital platforms worldwide for streaming and download.
With Jaime Lozano, the recipient of the prestigious 2022 Jonathan Larson Grant, at the helm, Songs By An Immigrant Vol. 2 features lyrics from a constellation of talents, including Georgie Castilla, Marina Pires, Neena Beber, Michael Cooper, Ella Bric & Fran Tapia, Nancy Nachama Cheser, and Tommy Newman. This symphony of words is brought to life through the enchanting melodies composed by Jaime Lozano.
The album boasts an array of Latin music luminaries and Broadway icons, including the likes of Melissa Barrera, Latin GRAMMY® winner Ella Bric, Florencia Cuenca, Eden Espinosa, Mandy Gonzalez, Robin de Jesús, Mauricio Martínez, and Ana Villafañe, among others.
In celebration of the album's release, the audience can feast their eyes on the poignant music video for "The Stories We Sing Of," performed by the maestro himself, Jaime Lozano. The video can be enjoyed [here](insert video link). For another dose of artistic brilliance, delve into the previously released video featuring Florencia Cuenca's soul-stirring rendition of "No Podemos Regresar," available [here](insert video link).
Jaime Lozano's artistry transcends borders as he candidly portrays the experiences of first- and second-generation middle-class immigrants in the United States. His work delves into the challenges faced, from finding a new home and grappling with a new language to confronting discrimination and chasing the American Dream while seeking to build bridges rather than walls.
As part of Jaime Lozano's 2023 Lincoln Center residency and in commemoration of the album's launch coinciding with the commencement of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Jaime Lozano & The Familia will grace the David Rubenstein Atrium stage tonight at 7:30 pm ET. Joining Lozano for this spectacular evening will be a stellar lineup of Broadway and Off-Broadway luminaries, including Mayelah Barrera, Melissa Barrera, Florencia Cuenca, Linedy Genao, Javier Ignacio, Mauricio Martínez, Joel Perez, Isabel Santiago, and Mario Tadeo.
Songs By An Immigrant Vol. 2 is a testament to Jaime Lozano's talents, featuring his intricate arrangements and orchestrations alongside those of Jesús Altamira. The album is a labor of love, produced by Lozano and Demián Cantú, co-produced by Victoria Kühne, and executive produced by Jaime Lozano & The Familia. The album's magic was woven through the editing and mixing skills of Cantú and the masterful touch of Oscar Zambrano during mastering. Detailed production credits can be found in the album booklet
