ACADEMY APPOINTS BRIDGETTE WILDER TO THE NEWLY CREATED

ROLE OF CHIEF PEOPLE AND CULTURE OFFICER

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has appointed Bridgette Wilder as its inaugural Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO), announced today by Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy Museum Director and President Jacqueline Stewart. Wilder will directly report to Kramer and Stewart.

In this newly established role, merging the human resources teams of both the Academy and the Academy Museum, Wilder will spearhead the cultivation of a people-centric culture within the organization. Her mandate encompasses fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, as she takes charge of talent management, organizational development and training, employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR systems and practices, and employee resource affinity groups.

Before assuming this role, Wilder held the position of Interim Chief People and Culture Officer for the Academy and served as Vice President of People and Culture at the Academy Museum. In these capacities, she collaborated with senior leadership to implement leading practices in talent management, compensation, employee benefits, legal compliance, employee relations, workers' compensation, and union relations.

Prior to her roles at the Academy, Wilder served as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), as well as Chief Human Resources Officer at Albany State University. She has also held senior positions at Verizon and The Citadel at the Military College of South Carolina.

Wilder obtained her BA in Human Resources from Birmingham-Southern College and a BS in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University. She earned an MBA from Averett University, completed the Furman University/Riley Institute Diversity Leadership Academy, and was honored with the Coretta Scott King Humanitarian Award.
