LMCC Manhattan Arts Grants Applications Now Open

The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) has officially opened applications for the 2025 Manhattan Arts Grants and the SU-CASA program, which support arts initiatives across Manhattan.

The Manhattan Arts Grants program, funded by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ), and the Howard Gilman Foundation, aims to bolster the arts as a cornerstone of a resilient New York City. In 2024, LMCC awarded over $1.6 million to more than 250 projects by individual artists, groups, and organizations throughout Manhattan. This year’s grants range from $4,000 to $16,000, with a simplified, single-application process offering access to multiple funding sources.

In addition, LMCC’s SU-CASA program allows Manhattan-based artists to lead hands-on arts programs at older adult centers from January to June 2025. Artists from all disciplines are encouraged to apply, and no prior experience working with older adults is required. There is a particular interest in artists who can teach in Spanish, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Applications for both programs are due by Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 5:00 PM EST. All projects must occur within Manhattan in 2025, with a maximum grant of $16,000.

To assist applicants, LMCC will host several information sessions this summer, including two virtual sessions in English, and in-person sessions in Mandarin-Chinese and Spanish. Interested applicants are encouraged to register for these sessions through LMCC’s website.

A separate virtual information session for the SU-CASA program will also be held in English.

Registration details are available at https://bit.ly/3L4RixA.

LMCC will further support applicants through Application Labs and Virtual Office Hours, providing personalized guidance to help strengthen submissions for the 2025 grant programs.

For detailed information on each grant, and program guidelines, and to register for information sessions, visit LMCC’s website or contact Emerson Chang or Laura Lizcano at 212-219-3139 / 212-219-3071, or via email at CreativeEngagement@lmcc.net.
