Olivier Award-Winning Operation Mincemeat Extends Broadway Run Into 2026 After Overwhelming Demand
Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical, the 2024 Olivier Award winner for Best Musical, has announced its third Broadway extension, with performances now running through February 15, 2026, at the historic Golden Theatre. Originally slated for a 16-week engagement, the critically acclaimed British import continues to captivate American audiences, securing its place as one of the season’s most unexpected and hilarious hits.
Fresh off its Broadway opening night last Thursday, Operation Mincemeat has proven to be more than just a sleeper success. Directed by Robert Hastie and written by the acclaimed comedy troupe SpitLip, the show has been extended twice before—and now again—due to popular demand.
To celebrate, producers have also announced a post-opening ticket draw offering $79 tickets for performances over the next four weeks. Fans can enter the draw on March 31, with winners notified directly via email. The draw will remain open for 24 hours only.
“Bringing our show to Broadway has been a dream come true,” said the members of SpitLip in a joint statement. “We’re delighted this ticket draw gives more people a chance to see the show that means so much to us.”
Set in 1943 and based on the true story of the top-secret British operation to fool the Nazis with a corpse and a fake identity, Operation Mincemeat transforms a wartime tale into a whip-smart musical comedy with a twist of espionage, drag, and dazzling theatricality.
The original West End cast—David Cumming, Claire-Marie Hall, Natasha Hodgson, Jak Malone (2024 Olivier Award winner), and Zoë Roberts—reprise their roles for the Broadway run, bringing with them the sharp wit and genre-bending energy that wowed London critics and audiences alike. The cast is joined by Brandon Contreras, Sam Hartley, Jessi Kirtley, Gerianne Pérez, and Amanda Jill Robinson as understudies.
Written and composed by SpitLip (Cumming, Hodgson, Roberts, and Felix Hagan), the show blends high-energy musical numbers with biting humor and fast-paced storytelling. It’s an unconventional Broadway offering that has struck a chord with theatergoers looking for something new, irreverent, and undeniably entertaining.
Operation Mincemeat is produced on Broadway and in the West End by Avalon in association with SpitLip. The musical was originally commissioned by New Diorama Theatre, co-commissioned by The Lowry, and supported by the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat.
