Actor and journalist Venus DeMilo Thomas sits down with acclaimed directors Reginald Hudlin and Shola Lynch to talk about their powerful new two-part documentary film event, “Number One on the Call Sheet,” now streaming on Apple TV+. 

In this special conversation for The New York Amsterdam News, they explore what it means to lead while African-American in Hollywood, why these stories matter, and how the film honors the legacy—and ongoing fight—for real representation on screen.
