The Golden Globes® are officially shifting awards-season momentum. The organization announced that Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall will unveil the nominees for the 83rd Annual Golden Globes® on Monday, December 8, 2025.
The full slate of 28 categories drops at 8:15 a.m. ET/5:15 a.m. PT on CBSNews.com, with 11 of those categories revealed exclusively on “CBS Mornings” at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT. Viewers can watch live via CBS News’ website, YouTube, and TikTok. As in past years, the complete nominee list will also go live on GoldenGlobes.com and across all Golden Globes® social platforms.
This upcoming ceremony marks a milestone year. Not only is it the first major awards show of the season, but it will also be hosted by comedian and actress Nikki Glaser—an acclaimed Golden Globe, GRAMMY® and Emmy®-nominated performer—when it airs Sunday, January 11, 2026, on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
Wayans and Marshall will present nominations across all categories, including a brand-new one: Best Podcast. Wayans enters the announcement with a multi-hyphenate career spanning decades and more than $1 billion in global box office receipts. He is currently touring with his stand-up show “Wild Child,” appears in Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw psychological sports thriller HIM, and recently wrapped Scary Movie 6 for Miramax and Paramount, which he wrote, produced, and stars in for a 2026 release.
Marshall, an actress, philanthropist, and Air Force veteran, brings her own momentum. She stars opposite Kathy Bates in CBS’ anticipated Matlock revival as Olympia Lawrence and is known for standout roles in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The CW’s Black Lightning.
The nominations themselves continue the Globes’ expanding footprint. Twenty-eight categories will feature six nominees each, except for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which will include eight. Film categories range from Best Motion Picture – Drama to Best Original Song, while television categories spotlight drama, comedy, limited series, supporting performances, and even stand-up comedy.
This will also be the first Golden Globes® ceremony to formally honor podcasting. The new Best Podcast category underscores how the organization is adapting to shifts in audience behavior and the growing influence of audio storytelling.
As always, KPMG LLP will tabulate the votes. “Serving as the official vote tabulator for the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards is a privilege,” said Melissa Taylor, Vice Chair, Clients & Markets at KPMG. “We look forward to continuing to demonstrate our commitment to quality, integrity, and excellence in supporting this iconic celebration of talent.”
The Golden Globes®, often called “Hollywood’s Party of the Year®,” is the largest awards show celebrating film, television—and now podcasting—reaching viewers in more than 185 countries. Dick Clark Productions will once again produce the broadcast.
Paramount, a Skydance Corporation, brings its full constellation of brands to this year’s coverage, including CBS, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, Showtime, Paramount+, and Pluto TV. Paramount+ Premium subscribers can stream the show live via their local CBS affiliate; Essential plan subscribers can stream it on demand the following day.
For more than 80 years, the Golden Globes® have recognized artistic achievement while also funding scholarships, film-preservation projects, and initiatives aimed at expanding access within Hollywood. More than $55 million has been donated in the last three decades alone.
Dick Clark Productions—home of “American Music Awards,” “Billboard Music Awards,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” and more—continues to steward the show, backed by one of the most extensive entertainment archives in the world.
KPMG LLP, the U.S. member firm of the global KPMG organization, remains central to the Globe’s credibility, with a workforce of more than 275,000 people worldwide and a long-standing commitment to community impact, education, and support programs across the country.
As nominations unfold and the countdown to January 11 begins, the Golden Globes® look ready to open awards season with a mix of tradition, reinvention, and a broadened definition of what “entertainment excellence” now includes.
