Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara Lead a Starry Broadway Revival of Fallen Angels
Broadway is getting a dose of champagne-fueled wit this spring as Fallen Angels, Noël Coward’s razor-sharp comedy of manners, returns in a limited engagement at the Roundabout Theatre Company—with a cast that reads like a greatest-hits list of stage and screen.
The new production stars Golden Globe winner Rose Byrne and Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara, marking one of the most anticipated theatrical pairings of the 2025–2026 season. Performances begin March 27, 2026, with an official opening set for April 19, running through June 7, 2026, at Broadway’s Todd Haimes Theatre (227 West 42nd Street).
Directed by Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis, the revival brings Coward’s 1925 comedy into sharp contemporary focus while preserving its intoxicating elegance. The play follows two upper-class wives who, with their husbands away for the day, toast to past romantic indiscretions—only to discover they once shared the same lover, who may now be on his way from France. What follows is a delicious unraveling of manners, marriage, and memory.
A Cast Built for Comedy—and Precision
Byrne takes on the role of Jane Banbury, bringing her acclaimed blend of comedic timing and emotional clarity to the stage. Fresh off major film and television successes, Byrne returns to Broadway opposite O’Hara, who stars as Julia Sterroll. O’Hara, one of Broadway’s most respected leading ladies, continues a career that has bridged musical theater, opera, and prestige television.
They are joined by an ensemble stacked with awards and experience: Tracee Chimo as Saunders; Emmy winner Mark Consuelos as Maurice Duclos, making his Broadway debut; Tony nominee Christopher Fitzgerald as Willy Banbury; and Obie winner Aasif Mandvi as Fred Sterroll.
Design That Matches the Sparkle
The creative team underscores Roundabout’s commitment to theatrical excellence. Scenic design is by David Rockwell, with costumes by Jeff Mahshie, lighting by Kenneth Posner, and sound design by John Gromada. Casting is handled by Carrie Gardner and Stephen Kopel.
A Coward Classic, Still Potent
When Fallen Angels premiered in 1925, it shocked and delighted audiences with its unapologetic take on female desire and marital hypocrisy. Nearly a century later, its wit remains bracing. Coward—best known for Private Lives, Hay Fever, and Present Laughter—understood that comedy could be both light and lethal. This revival leans into that legacy, offering a production that is brisk, stylish, and unapologetically funny.
