NYC Tourism’s ‘Winter Outing’ Campaign Aims to Fill City Hotels, Theaters and Restaurants During the Slow Season

New York City Invites Visitors to Savor Winter With Citywide Deals on Dining, Broadway, and Hotels

New York City is turning its winter chill into an invitation. NYC Winter Outing℠ 2026, the city’s signature seasonal campaign, returns January 20 through February 12, offering locals and visitors a chance to experience the best of the five boroughs—at a discount.

Organized by @NYCtourism, the program bundles some of the city's most popular promotions under one banner, including NYC Restaurant Week®, NYC Broadway Week℠, NYC Must-See Week℠, and NYC Hotel Week℠.

“This is the ultimate value period for visitors to enjoy all that New York City has to offer—from diverse cuisine and rich cultural experiences to hotels reflective of the City’s distinct neighborhoods,” said Julie Coker, president and chief executive of New York City Tourism + Conventions. “Since its inception, NYC Winter Outing has supported nearly 5,000 businesses citywide, helping to power an industry that generates over $50 billion in direct spending each year.”

This year’s program will feature nearly 600 restaurants, 26 Broadway shows, and nearly 80 cultural attractions, all offering limited-time savings. The campaign’s travel partner, Amtrak, is also promoting special deals on train travel from the Northeast Corridor.

Dining and Theater Deals

NYC Restaurant Week returns with fixed-price two-course lunches and three-course dinners for $30, $45, or $60. Diners can browse participating restaurants by neighborhood, cuisine, or theme—from “Date Night” and “Cozy Vibes” to “Hidden Gems.”

On Broadway, theater lovers can enjoy 2-for-1 tickets to major productions, including Hamilton, Wicked, The Lion King, Hadestown, and newer entries like Hell’s Kitchen and The Outsiders. Tickets can be filtered by genre, accessibility, or “Tony Award Winners” status, ensuring ease of choice for every type of theatergoer.

Cultural Attractions and Hotel Getaways

Beyond dining and theater, NYC Must-See Week brings 2-for-1 entry to dozens of world-class attractions, such as the Empire State Building Observatory, Carnegie Hall, and the Museum of the Moving Image. Newcomers this year include the Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) and Mercer Labs.

Meanwhile, NYC Hotel Week is already underway with 25% off standard rates at more than 150 hotels, including The Plaza Hotel, The Pierre, W New York – Union Square, and Ace Hotel Brooklyn.

A Citywide Boost

Since launching in 2019, NYC Winter Outing has become a reliable boost for local tourism during one of the city’s quietest travel periods. The initiative, now in its seventh year, continues to connect visitors with quintessential New York experiences—from fine dining and live performances to landmark views and boutique stays—at accessible price points.
