BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai Brings a Legend to Netflix
On February 26, 2026, Netflix drops BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai, the latest chapter in the long‑running Baki saga. Based on Keisuke Itagaki’s manga “BAKI-DOU,” the new series picks up after the “biggest father–son fight on earth,” with Baki Hanma and his fellow fighters facing an unexpected problem: there’s no one left who can push them to their limits.
The solution is pure Baki: someone hatches a plan to resurrect Musashi Miyamoto, the greatest swordsman in Japanese history. Dropping a legendary samurai into the modern underground fight scene sets up an era‑crossing showdown—Musashi’s sword and battlefield code against Baki’s bare‑knuckle, rule‑breaking style. Produced by TMS ENTERTAINMENT, the studio behind BAKI and Baki Hanma, the series promises high‑impact animation and the franchise’s usual obsession with what “strength” really means.
Music is a key part of that mood. The opening theme, “FURUBOKO” by WANIMA, is written around the idea that “one’s way of life itself is a battle,” capturing the feeling of standing back up after being completely knocked down. The ending theme, “Mountain Top” by Novel Core, takes Baki’s perspective as he looks at his father Yujiro—the strongest, and therefore the loneliest—and likens ultimate power to thin air at the summit: the higher you climb, the more it costs.
Directed by Toshiki Hirano, with series composition by Tatsuhiko Urahata and character designs from Shingo Ishikawa, the season features Troy Baker as Baki and SungWon Cho as Musashi, plus cameos from The Miz, Nolan Hansen, Matt Mercer, Charles White Jr. (Cr1tikal), and Lena Lemon.
All 13 episodes of BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai premiere February 26, with more updates available via the official X account, @teambaki_en.
