Kerry Washington to Star in and Executive Produce Jaume Collet-Serra’s Psychological Thriller 'An Innocent Girl' for Netflix Opposite James Marsden and Chloe East

Kerry Washington has boarded “An Innocent Girl,” a new psychological thriller from director Jaume Collet-Serra, set at Netflix. She will star opposite James Marsden and Chloe East and also serve as an executive producer.

The screenplay comes from Michael Mohan and Marc Guggenheim, with current revisions by Carly Wray. The film is produced by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter under their Berlanti/Schechter Films banner, as part of their ongoing creative partnership with Netflix. Executive producers are Marc Guggenheim, Mike McGrath, Scott Greenberg, and Kerry Washington.

Described as a taut psychological thriller, “An Innocent Girl” follows a young and ambitious woman who is seduced by a high-powered D.C. couple and drawn into a dangerous world of sex, power, and murder.

Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee Washington continues her streak of Netflix successes. She most recently starred in Rian Johnson’s “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” the latest installment in the hit whodunit franchise, which holds a Certified Fresh Tomatometer score in the low 90s on Rotten Tomatoes. She also executive-produced and starred in Tyler Perry’s World War II drama “The Six Triple Eight,” which became his most-watched Netflix film to date and reached the Top 10 in more than 85 countries. Washington previously starred alongside Meryl Streep in the movie musical “The Prom.”

Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Marsden returns to Netflix after his turn in the dark comedy series “Dead to Me,” whose final season logged over 30 million hours viewed in its first days on the platform and landed on the streamer’s Global Top 10 list.

“An Innocent Girl” is the latest feature to emerge from Berlanti/Schechter Films’ creative partnership with Netflix.
