“CHESS Further Cements Lea Michele’s Status as One of Broadway’s Finest Leading Ladies.” – USA Today
Broadway audiences will have just a few more weeks to catch Lea Michele in her acclaimed, sold-out turn as Florence Vassy in CHESS. Michele will depart the Imperial Theatre on Sunday, June 21, 2026, wrapping up a twice-extended, record-breaking run that’s been hailed by The New York Times as “one of the best theater moments of the year.”
A new block of tickets for “the Broadway show of the season” (Chicago Tribune) goes on sale next week—proof that the CHESS phenomenon shows no signs of slowing down.
“Lea Michele reigns as queen!” raves Variety. People, Entertainment Weekly, and New York Magazine all agree—her emotionally charged, powerhouse performance has Broadway buzzing nightly. Producers will announce her successor soon.
Featuring a new book by Danny Strong (Dopesick), music by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, lyrics by Tim Rice (Evita), and direction by Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening), CHESS continues its reign at the Imperial Theatre through summer 2026.
Tickets are available via Telecharge or at the Imperial box office. $49 digital lottery and rush tickets are available at rush.telecharge.com.
