‘Rocky Horror Show’ extends Broadway run at Studio 54 through Nov. 29
“The Rocky Horror Show” is sticking around.
Producers Roundabout Theatre Company, Trafalgar Entertainment, and the Dodgers have announced a second extension for the Broadway revival of Richard O’Brien’s cult musical, now set to run through November 29 at Studio 54. Tickets for the newly added dates went on sale at 10 a.m. ET on May 1.
The production, directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Pinkleton, began previews on March 26 and officially opened on April 23. It was originally scheduled to close on June 21 before extending to July 19. The latest extension comes amid strong ticket sales and continued demand.
Rachel Dratch leads the cast as the Narrator and Luke Evans as Frank-N-Furter, with Andrew Durand (Brad), Stephanie Hsu (Janet), Amber Gray (Riff Raff), Harvey Guillén (Eddie/Dr. Scott), Juliette Lewis (Magenta), Josh Rivera (Rocky), and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Columbia).
The ensemble includes Renée Albulario, Anania, Boy Radio, Caleb Quezon, Andres Quintero, Larkin Reilly, Paul Soileau, and John Yi.
The revival has also generated awards traction, earning six Drama Desk Award nominations, including Outstanding Revival of a Musical, along with four Drama League Award nominations, two Outer Critics Circle Award nominations, and two Chita Rivera Award nominations.
Creative team members include choreographer Ani Taj, music supervisor Kris Kukul, scenic designer dots, costume designer David I. Reynoso, lighting designer Jane Cox, and sound designer Brian Ronan. Wigs and hair are by Alberto “Albee” Alvarado, with makeup design by Sterling Tull.
First staged in 1973 at London’s Royal Court Theatre, “The Rocky Horror Show” has remained in near-continuous production worldwide for more than five decades. The 1975 film adaptation, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” became a midnight movie staple, helping cement the title’s long-running cultural impact. More than 40 million people in more than 15 languages have seen the stage production.
The musical follows Brad and Janet, a young couple whose car breaks down outside a mansion owned by the enigmatic Dr. Frank-N-Furter, setting off a night of music, transformation, and theatrical spectacle, featuring songs including “Time Warp,” “Dammit Janet,” and “Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me.”
Tickets for the extended run are available through Roundabout Theatre Company, with rush and digital lottery options also offered for select performances.
