The Complete List of Nominees

Broadway’s second-biggest day has arrived.

The nominations for the 79th Annual Tony Awards have officially been unveiled, setting the stage for a wide-open race ahead of the June 7 ceremony, when the winners will be revealed.

This season brought a packed slate, with roughly 30 eligible productions opening across the 2025–2026 Broadway calendar. Among the early standouts: “Ragtime,” “Death of a Salesman,” “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,” “The Lost Boys,” “Cats: The Jellicle Ball,” “Liberation,” “Giant,” and “Every Brilliant Thing.”

The rollout began this morning on CBS Mornings, where six major categories — Best Musical, Best Play, and the Leading Actor and Actress races in both plays and musicals — were announced. The remaining nominations followed at 9:00 a.m. ET on the official Tony Awards YouTube channel.

At the top of the list, “The Lost Boys” and “Schmigadoon!” lead with 12 nominations each. Close behind is “Ragtime” with 11. A trio of productions — “Death of a Salesman,” “Cats: The Jellicle Ball,” and “The Rocky Horror Show” — each pulled in nine nominations.

From there, the field spreads out:

  • “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)” – 8
  • “Oedipus” – 7
  • “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” – 5
  • “The Balusters” – 5
  • “Chess” – 5
  • “Fallen Angels” – 5
  • “Liberation” – 5
  • “Bug” – 4
  • “Giant” – 4
  • “Titaníque” – 4
  • “Dog Day Afternoon” – 3
  • “Becky Shaw” – 2
  • “Every Brilliant Thing” – 2
  • “The Fear of 13” – 2
  • “Marjorie Prime” – 2
  • “Little Bear Ridge Road” – 1
  • “Punch” – 1
  • “Waiting for Godot” – 1

A few early takeaways are already shaping the conversation. Notably absent: Lea Michele for “Chess” and Adrien Brody for “The Fear of 13,” which landed just two nominations, both in design categories. Meanwhile, Rose Byrne pulled off a rare double milestone — earning both an Oscar nomination (for “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You”) and a Tony nomination this year for “Fallen Angels.”

Two plays also stood out for their use of music. “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” and “Death of a Salesman” both earned nominations for original score, leaning into blues-driven soundscapes that shaped their storytelling.

The full list of nominees follows below.

The 79th Tony Awards will return to Radio City Music Hall in New York City, hosted by Pink. The ceremony will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+, coast-to-coast, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. ET.

More analysis — including snubs, surprises, and what it all means — is on the way.
