“The Lost Boys” Cast Album Sets July 24 Release From Atlantic Records

Atlantic Records sets July 24 release for “The Lost Boys” Broadway cast album

Atlantic Records will release the original Broadway cast recording of “The Lost Boys” on July 24, giving the 12-time Tony Award-nominated musical a wider life beyond the Palace Theatre.

The album, now available for pre-order, features music and lyrics by the Rescues, the Los Angeles indie-rock trio behind the show’s driving score. To mark the announcement, Atlantic has released “Secret Comes Out,” the first single from the recording.

Based on the Warner Bros. film, “The Lost Boys” has become one of the season’s most talked-about Broadway arrivals, blending horror, family drama, and rock-musical spectacle. The story follows Lucy, a mother seeking a fresh start with her two teenage sons, only to find that their sunny coastal town has a darker edge. Missing-person posters line the boardwalk. A local rock band offers belonging. By nightfall, her son Michael’s new friends reveal themselves as something far more dangerous.

The cast album arrives at a high point for the production, which earned 12 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. The show has also picked up nominations from the Drama Desk Awards, Drama League Awards, and Dorian Theater Awards, along with audience and critics’ group honors.

For the Rescues (Kyler England, AG, and Gabriel Mann), the album marks a major step in bringing the show’s sound to listeners outside Broadway. “We are beyond ecstatic to be recording the cast album,” the group said in a statement, calling the project “the creative adventure of a lifetime.”

The recording is produced by the Rescues and Ethan Popp, with Ian Kagey recording and Richard Furch mixing. Craig Rosen and Michael Parker of Atlantic Records are executive producers.

Atlantic’s involvement places “The Lost Boys” in a notable Broadway recording lineage. The label has released several major cast albums in recent years, including “Hamilton,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Jagged Little Pill,” “The Notebook,” “Suffs,” “Just In Time,” and “The Last Five Years” 25th anniversary live recording.

Directed by Michael Arden, “The Lost Boys” features a book by David Hornsby and Chris Hoch, choreography and aerial choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant, and music supervision by Ethan Popp. The production’s visual world is shaped by scenic designer Dane Laffrey, costume designer Ryan Park, lighting designers Jen Schriever and Arden, and sound designer Adam Fisher.

The Broadway company is led by LJ Benet, Shoshana Bean, Ali Louis Bourzgui, Benjamin Pajak, Maria Wirries, Paul Alexander Nolan, Jennifer Duka, Miguel Gil, Brian Flores, Sean Grandillo, and Dean Maupin.

The musical is also preparing for life beyond New York. A North American tour is scheduled to begin in spring 2028 at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, with additional cities and dates to be announced.

For now, the cast album gives the production another way to reach fans: not through fog, flight, and stagecraft, but through the score itself — a rock-driven invitation back into the world of Santa Carla, where the beach is beautiful, the nights are dangerous, and the secret always comes out.
