STARZ Sets July Premiere for 50 Cent’s London Boxing Drama ‘Fightland’

STARZ has released the first teaser trailer and key art for Fightland, a new family crime drama set in the bruising world of London boxing. The series will premiere Friday, July 31, with new episodes streaming weekly on Fridays on the STARZ app and across STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms.

Executive-produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Fightland marks his first internationally produced series through G-Unit Film & Television. The show folds together boxing, organized crime, and family betrayal, using the ring as both spectacle and metaphor: a place where power is won publicly, while the real damage is often done in private.

The series centers on Duke Kilroy, played by Howard Charles, a British-born boxer whose greatest professional triumph is shattered by personal tragedy. On the night Duke becomes world heavyweight champion, a violent assault leaves his brother, Calvin, dead. Duke’s grief and rage lead to consequences that cost him eight years in a U.S. prison.

When he is released, Duke returns home with more than freedom on his mind. After making a disturbing discovery, he sets out to confront Kingsley Marshall, played by Nicholas Pinnock, a criminal kingpin and former promoter whom Duke believes orchestrated his downfall. But Kingsley has disappeared, leaving behind a fractured empire — and a family still very much in the line of fire.

Among those left to manage the wreckage is Joy, played by Deborah Ayorinde, Kingsley’s wife and the love of Duke’s life. Her presence complicates Duke’s mission, turning what might have been a straightforward revenge story into something murkier: a collision of old love, criminal loyalty and unfinished business.

As Duke works with a cartel eager to control London’s drug market, he begins infiltrating Kingsley’s empire from within, hoping to force his enemy out of hiding. But the deeper he moves through the city’s violent underworld, the more he must rely on the qualities that once made him a champion — discipline, endurance and the ability to take a hit without losing sight of the next one.

The cast also includes Anita-Joy Uwajeh as Cebella “Cece” Marshall, Charles Babalola as Ezekiel “Zeek” Marshall, Tahirah Sharif as Kim Harper, Tyler Conti as Justin “Jay” Hall and Richard Pepple as Gary “Gazzer” Kilroy.

For STARZ, Fightland arrives as a strategic title. It is the network’s first wholly owned series and part of its push to expand a programming pipeline built around inclusive, adult storytelling. The broader slate includes owned originals, prestige acquisitions such as Amadeus and The Listeners, and established franchises including Outlander and Power.

Jackson executive-produces through G-Unit Film & Television, the company behind the Power universe, BMF, and a growing slate of scripted, documentary, and audio projects. Francis Hopkinson and Kate Leadbetter of Expanded Media also executive-produce and produce.

The series was created by Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, who serve as executive producers and writers. Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr. serve as showrunners, executive producers, and writers. Otto Bathurst, whose credits include Peaky Blinders, directs and executive-produces the first two episodes.
