Sunday, July 12, 2026 | 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Across New York City
New Yorkers are invited to walk, meditate, and gather across all five boroughs on Sunday, July 12, during Day of Remembering Our Interdependence, a Buddhist-led, interfaith peace pilgrimage inspired by the Buddhist monks’ 2,300-mile Walk for Peace.
The day-long New York City pilgrimage will begin at 8 a.m. with simultaneous gatherings on Staten Island and in the Bronx before moving through Manhattan and Brooklyn and concluding in Queens.
Pilgrims will take part in sitting and walking meditation, chanting, metta—or loving-kindness—practice, the transferring of merit and ceremonies for safety and protection. The day will culminate in a joyful community gathering with songs, poetry, movement, and food.
All are welcome to complete the entire five-borough pilgrimage or join at any point along the route.
