Zendaya’s Chani Confronts Paul Atreides in the New Dune: Part Three Trailer

Another trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s final Dune film has arrived, and Zendaya’s Chani has serious questions for Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides.

“You promised me you would never take power in your name,” Chani tells him.

The trailer makes clear how far Paul’s power has expanded. Jason Momoa’s Duncan Idaho says the Lisan al-Gaib has “conquered the galaxy” and “destroyed thousands of worlds.”

When Paul asks Duncan what he thinks of that, the response is blunt.

“I think you’re way beyond redemption.”

Florence Pugh returns as Princess Irulan, while Robert Pattinson appears as Scytale. The two are shown discussing Scytale’s desire for “regime change,” which Irulan understands to mean killing Paul.

“Idiot,” she tells him. “You’ve just signed our death warrants.”

The trailer also includes a glimpse of Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, covered in blood and screaming. Taylor-Joy, who appeared briefly in Dune: Part Two, returns in the role of Paul’s younger sister.

Paul and Chani’s twins are also shown being held by their parents. In one scene, Chani asks Paul what they should name a daughter. She says that, if they have a boy, they should name him Leto after Paul’s father, Duke Leto Atreides, so that the child might have his grandfather’s wisdom.

Paul is also shown with a shaved head, running to the top of a structure above a large cheering crowd and later facing an opponent in the desert.

“I’m not afraid to die,” he says in voice-over, “but I must not die yet.”

The trailer ends with Chani summoning a sandworm.

Set 17 years after the events of Dune: Part Two, Dune: Part Three is adapted from Frank Herbert’s 1969 novel Dune Messiah. The returning cast includes Chalamet, Zendaya, Pugh, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa and Anya Taylor-Joy. Robert Pattinson and Isaach de Bankolé are among the new additions.

Villeneuve directed and co-wrote all three films.

Dune: Part Three opens in theaters on December 18, 2026.
