Souleo Hosts Harlem Arts Conversation Celebrating Children’s Art Carnival and Black Contemporary Artists
Souleo brings the conversation to Harlem with a special program celebrating the legacy of the Children’s Art Carnival, a pioneering community arts organization that has influenced generations of Black and diverse contemporary artists.
The discussion will explore the Carnival’s origins, its support of artist-educators, and its transformative model for community-based arts education. Grounded in creative freedom, hands-on learning, and cultural connection, the Children’s Art Carnival has created an enduring space where young people, working artists, and the Harlem community can imagine, experiment, and thrive.
The Souleo-led event is presented in conjunction with Children’s Art Carnival in Harlem: The Making of Contemporary Artists, on view at Columbia University’s Wallach Art Gallery from June 26 through September 13, 2026.6 through September 13, 2026.
