Venus DeMilo Thomas Goes Behind the Scenes at BROSHIGEEZ World Hop Launch Party in Los Angeles

The Los Angeles event brought together Grammy Award-winning music creators, actors, producers and artists to celebrate BROSHIGEEZ, a new collective founded by Thomas Van Musser, R1ckOne and Rawcel.

Los Angeles was filled with music, reunions and creative energy as I went behind the scenes at the official World Hop launch party for BROSHIGEEZ, which stands for Brothers Shining High in God’s Eternal Eye.

The new music collective brings together artists and producers whose work has helped shape some of the industry’s most recognizable records. BROSHIGEEZ is being launched by Thomas Van Musser alongside Grammy Award-winning collaborator Rick Dixon, professionally known as R1ckOne, and Rawcel, who played an instrumental role in introducing Fergie to The Black Eyed Peas.

Thomas Van Musser and R1ckOne also contributed to several records, including The Black Eyed Peas hit “Hey Mama.” Their experience, musical history and creative relationships were central to the evening, which brought together performers, producers, actors and entertainment-industry veterans.

One of the most personal moments for me was reconnecting with Omar Gooding. We had the chance to talk about our days working on “Wild & Crazy Kids” and “Smart Guy,” making the BROSHIGEEZ celebration feel like both a launch party and a reunion.

DJ Motiv8 spoke with me about his role as a mentor to The Black Eyed Peas and BROSHIGEEZ. Rapper Conejo also attended the event to show his support for the group and its new musical direction.

The evening included conversations with several artists and entertainment professionals working across film, television, music and digital media.

Emmy-nominated actor Kim Estes discussed his series BigLaw.tv, while veteran director and producer Marvin Williams shared details about his work. Serene Winter offered an early look at her upcoming music-video release, and Young Retro joined the celebration in support of BROSHIGEEZ.

Stephanie Michaela spoke about her new single, “Carefree.” Gospel artist Fatelle discussed his upcoming album and the Malibu Mixer, an event where I will also be making an appearance.

Bobby Outside introduced his new podcast created to spotlight up-and-coming artists. “American Idol” Top 6 finalist Corey Clark also stopped by and gave us an update on his music.

Food was another important part of the celebration. Dawgenfry joined the event to showcase its menu, giving guests something to enjoy as the interviews, music and conversations continued throughout the evening.

Music producer Cory Marks, also known as TheRealKnotch, came out to support BROSHIGEEZ, and actress Keyla Wood helped close out an exciting night celebrating collaboration, history and new creative possibilities.

The BROSHIGEEZ World Hop launch party offered more than a glimpse of a new music collective. It brought together generations of entertainers and creators whose careers have crossed through music, television, film and live events.

For me, the evening was an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet emerging artists and document the people working behind the scenes to create the next chapter of Los Angeles music and entertainment.
