David Corenswet, François Arnaud, Yvonne Strahovski head to Broadway in ‘Three Days of Rain’
Richard Greenberg’s Pulitzer Prize-finalist returns to Broadway in 2027, directed by Tony Award- winner Anna D. Shapiro.
Broadway is getting an intriguing trio in 2027. “Superman” star David Corenswet, “Heated Rivalry” actor François Arnaud, and “The Handmaid’s Tale” Emmy nominee Yvonne Strahovski will star in a new production of Richard Greenberg’s acclaimed drama “Three Days of Rain.”
Directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro (“August: Osage County,” “Eureka Day”), the strictly limited 16-week engagement begins previews on January 30, 2027, at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre, with opening night set for March 1, 2027.
A Pulitzer Prize finalist, “Three Days of Rain” explores the complicated inheritance of family secrets, memory, and the unsettling realization that our parents had entire lives before we entered the picture.
The story follows siblings Walker and Nan, who reunite with childhood friend Pip in a downtown Manhattan loft. Their architect fathers once designed a celebrated house, but a mysterious journal and an unexpected will begin unraveling everything the younger generation thought they knew about the past.
Part family mystery, part psychological excavation, Greenberg’s play moves between generations, asking how much of our parents’ unfinished business becomes our own.
The production brings together an accomplished Broadway creative team, including scenic designer Todd Rosenthal, costume designer Arianne Phillips, lighting designer Donald Holder, sound designer Justin Ellington, and wig and hair designer Luc Verschueren for Campbell Young Associates. Gigi Buffington serves as voice and text coach.
Producer David Binder, whose credits include “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” and “Network,” leads the production with co-producer Jayne Baron Sherman.
For Corenswet, Arnaud, and Strahovski, the production offers audiences an opportunity to experience three familiar screen performers in the intimacy of live theater, tackling a work celebrated for its wit, emotional complexity, and shifting perspectives.
