The Home Depot’s $29.99 Ugly Christmas Sweater Comes With Tools and a $50 Gift Card
The limited-edition 2026 Home Depot Holiday Sweater turns the classic ugly Christmas sweater into a wearable toolbox — complete with Husky tools, a DeWalt level and a $50 peppermint-scented gift card.
The ultimate ugly sweater this year comes from The Home Depot — and that’s not an insult. It’s a full-on brag.
The Home Depot announced a limited-edition Holiday Sweater that takes the classic ugly Christmas sweater and gives it a genuinely useful upgrade: pockets from the retailer’s iconic orange apron, stocked with holiday-decorating tools.
Priced at $29.99, the sweater is being promoted as a $150 value. It comes packed with a Husky screwdriver, tape measure, pliers, and rechargeable headlamp, along with a DeWalt level, Command outdoor light clips, and a mechanical pencil.
And then there is the kicker: tucked inside is a $50 peppermint-scented Home Depot gift card.
In other words, this may be the rare ugly holiday sweater that looks ridiculous on purpose, earns the joke, and still manages to be useful.
When Can You Buy the Home Depot Holiday Sweater?
A limited number of sweaters will be released at 11 a.m. ET on Oct. 15, while supplies last. Purchases are limited to one sweater per customer.
The unisex sweater will be available in sizes XS through XXL at thehomedepotevent.myshopify.com.
For anyone shopping for a DIY enthusiast, homeowner, or tool lover who is notoriously difficult to buy for, this may be one of the more unusual holiday gift ideas of the season.
The Home Depot’s 2026 Holiday Decor Collection Is Rolling Out Now
The sweater arrives alongside The Home Depot’s larger 2026 Holiday Decor Collection, which began rolling into stores nationwide the week of Oct. 5. Shoppers can also browse the collection online at homedepot.com.
Christmas trees remain a major part of the assortment, including new versions of the popular Grand Duchess artificial trees.
The viral 9-foot Grand Duchess and 7.5-foot Grand Duchess now include Hubspace app integration, allowing users to customize their holiday lighting displays directly from a smartphone.
For shoppers who prefer their Christmas decorations considerably larger, The Home Depot is once again leaning into oversized outdoor decor.
Among the statement pieces are the 6.5-foot Animated LED App-Controlled Santa and the even larger 8.5-foot Giant-Sized LED Towering Santa.
They are not subtle. That is presumably the point.
Holiday Gift Deals Begin Oct. 29
Beginning Oct. 29, The Home Depot will also begin promoting holiday savings across categories including power tools, smart-home products, and entertaining essentials.
That makes the retailer worth watching not only for Christmas decorations but also for holiday gifts for homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, new apartment dwellers, tech lovers, and people who simply enjoy receiving something useful.
Even the Home Depot Bucket Is Getting a Holiday Makeover
One of the quieter — and considerably cheaper — collectibles in this year’s lineup is a new seasonal version of another Home Depot staple.
For the first time, the retailer is introducing limited-edition 2-gallon holiday buckets.
Priced at $2.98, the buckets are intended to work as practical containers for projects, holiday gift baskets, or seasonal decorating.
They became available online Oct. 1, with an in-store rollout planned for mid-October, while supplies last.
Between a tool-packed sweater, app-controlled Christmas trees, towering Santas, and collectible buckets, The Home Depot appears determined to make its 2026 holiday collection as useful as it is conspicuous.
And at $29.99 with a $50 gift card already inside, the Holiday Sweater may be the rare ugly Christmas sweater that can claim to practically pay for itself.
