Drama. Drama. Drama. It's time for the 84th Annual Drama League Awards

84th Annual Drama League Awards on Friday, May 18, 2018.  

In New York, the 84th Annual Drama League Awards is bringing out the stars of the stage to celebrate. Drama League Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Stelian-Shanks announced that Taylor Louderman, Ashley Park, and Kate Rockwell—the three “Plastics” from this season’s production of Mean Girls—will co-host the 84th Annual Drama League Awards on Friday, May 18, 2018.

The annual luncheon will take place at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway) starting at 11:30 AM.

Louderman, Park, and Rockwell will join this year’s stellar roster of nominees on the dais.

They will co-host the annual ceremony honoring the 2017-2018 theater season as well as the previously announced 2018 Special Awards Recipients: Tony® Award-winner Idina Menzel will receive the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award; Tony® Award-nominee Casey Nicholaw, currently represented on Broadway by Mean Girls, Aladdin, and The Book of Mormon, will receive The Founders Award for Excellence in Directing; and the National Endowment for the Arts (represented by Chairman Jane Chu) will receive the Unique Contribution to the Theater Award.

These honors are in addition to the five competitive categories for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award; winners in each of these five categories will be announced during the ceremony.  The nominees for these categories were announced earlier this month by Tony Award winners Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and Julie White (The Little Dog Laughed).

Taylor Louderman is a Tony, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Award nominee for her performance as Regina George in Mean Girls. She recently finished starring as 'Lauren' in Kinky Boots on Broadway. She made her Broadway debut originating the role of 'Campbell' in Bring it On The Musical. Television credits include Nick Jr.'s "Sunny Day" (Blair), Wendy in NBC's Peter Pan Live, HBO's "High Maintenance." Taylor has also starred in roles off-Broadway at The Vineyard, Papermill Playhouse, and THE MUNY. @taylizlou

Ashley Park is a Tony, Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk, Chita Rivera, and Drama League Award nominee for her performance as Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls.
