"Harmony" Announces Cast and Opening Dates

The upcoming musical "Harmony," with music by Barry Manilow and book and lyrics by Bruce Sussman, has announced its cast and opening dates. The production, which is based on the true story of the Comedian Harmonists, a popular German vocal group of the 1920s and 1930s, will play at Broadway's Barrymore Theatre, with previews starting on October 18, 2023, and an official opening night on November 13, 2023.

The cast of "Harmony" includes Sean Bell, Danny Kornfeld, Zal Owen, Eric Peters, Blake Roman, and Steven Telsey as the Comedian Harmonists. The production is directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, who won a Tony Award for "Hello Dolly!" and "The Music Man."

"Harmony" tells the story of six talented young men who went from singing in the subway tunnels of Berlin to international superstardom, selling millions of records, making dozens of films, and selling out the biggest theaters around the world. The musical is based on the Comedian Harmonist Archive, curated by the late Dr. Peter Czada.

The musical received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Musical in 2002, as well as awards for Outstanding Best Book of a Musical and Best New Musical from the Off-Broadway Alliance in 2022. The upcoming production is produced by Ken Davenport, Sandi Moran, and Garry Kief, among others.
