Broadway is buzzing as A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical begins previews tonight at Studio 54, bringing the life and legacy of jazz legend Louis Armstrong to the stage. With Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin, Hamilton) leading as Armstrong, the musical promises a powerful mix of swinging tunes, stunning choreography, and unforgettable performances.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, a special performance featuring James Monroe Iglehart, Gavin Gregory (The Color Purple), Dionne Figgins (Motown: The Musical), and the A Wonderful World Broadway Jazz Band dazzled audiences with a lively rendition of “It’s Tight Like That.” The performance captured the infectious energy of Armstrong’s music, with video credit going to Harry McFann Productions.

Through TodayTix, a limited number of digital rush tickets will be available for $49 each, starting at 9:00 AM ET on the day of the performance. In-person rush tickets will also be available at the Studio 54 box office for $25 (students) and $49 (general), sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Directed by Christopher Renshaw, the production boasts a book by Aurin Squire (This Is Us, The Good Fight) and co-direction by Iglehart and Christina Sajous. The creative team includes Grammy-winning Branford Marsalis handling orchestrations and arrangements, Tony-winning choreographer Rickey Tripp, and a star-studded ensemble cast portraying Armstrong’s family, friends, and contemporaries.
