The highly anticipated Broadway revival of GYPSY has released the first look photos of six-time Tony Award Winner Audra McDonald as the mother of all roles, Madame Rose, ahead of its sold-out first preview tonight, November 21 at the newly renovated Majestic Theatre (245 West 44^th Street).

Broadway is about to experience a powerful revival of one of the greatest musicals of all time. GYPSY, directed by the six-time Tony Award-winning George C. Wolfe, will feature an all-star cast, including six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald as Rose, Tony Award winner Danny Burstein as Herbie, and Joy Woods as Louise. This gripping tale of mothers, daughters, and the pursuit of fame promises to captivate audiences with its timeless story, incredible performances, and unforgettable music.

GYPSY is based on the memoirs of the iconic Gypsy Rose Lee and tells the heart-wrenching story of a mother's relentless ambition to make her daughters famous in the world of vaudeville. With a Tony Award-winning book by Arthur Laurents, music by Tony and Academy Award-winning Jule Styne, and lyrics by the legendary Stephen Sondheim, this musical is a masterclass in storytelling.

The show also boasts an impressive creative team, including choreography by four-time Tony Award nominee Camille A. Brown, music direction and supervision by Andy Einhorn, and scenic design by four-time Tony Award winner Santo Loquasto. The costume design, hair, and makeup are by the incredible Toni-Leslie James and Mia Neal, ensuring that the visuals will be as stunning as the performances. With lighting by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, and sound design by Scott Lehrer, the technical elements will transport audiences into the heart of this gripping Broadway drama.

The performances of GYPSY will begin on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the newly renovated Majestic Theatre (245 West 44th Street).
