Broadway’s “All In: Comedy About Love” Kicks Off with Star-Studded First Look and Premiere Performance

Broadway’s “All In: Comedy About Love” Kicks Off with Star-Studded First Look and Premiere Performance

Simon Rich’s hilarious new show debuts at the Hudson Theatre with an all-star rotating cast, live music, and laughs about the messy beauty of love.

The curtain is rising on Broadway’s newest comedy, “All In: Comedy About Love”, as the highly anticipated show begins its first preview performance tonight at the Hudson Theatre. Written by Simon Rich and directed by Tony Award-winner Alex Timbers, the production brings together a dynamic cast of comedy heavyweights, including John Mulaney, Fred Armisen, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Richard Kind for its opening weeks.

A First Look at Comedy Gold

To celebrate the launch, the production has unveiled a first-look portrait of its star-studded cast and creative team. Based on Simon Rich’s short stories from The New Yorker, the show explores the hilarity and heartbreak of love, dating, and relationships. A rotating cast will perform these relatable and absurd tales each week, adding a fresh twist for audiences.

The initial cast includes:

  • John Mulaney (Dec. 11 – Jan. 12)
  • Fred Armisen (Dec. 11 – Jan. 12)
  • Renée Elise Goldsberry (Dec. 11 – Dec. 29)
  • Richard Kind (Dec. 11 – Jan. 12)

Later performances will feature comedy icons like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Aidy Bryant, Nick Kroll, Jimmy Fallon, and Annaleigh Ashford, with each lineup offering a unique blend of humor and heart.

Music Meets Comedy

The show also features live performances by acclaimed musical duo The Bengsons, who bring the music of The Magnetic Fields to the stage, including selections from the iconic album “69 Love Songs.”

A Comedy About Everything (and Everyone)

Described as “everything you want in a night out,” “All In” combines humor, live music, and a bit of Broadway magic. From pirates to dogs and even British accents, the stories are a wild ride through the complexities of love, all wrapped up in 90 minutes of unforgettable entertainment.

"Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is complicated... and so is this show,” quips the production team. “We hope everybody will relate, even if it was their date’s idea to come and they’re starting out from a place of quiet resentment.”

Behind the Scenes

“All In: Comedy About Love” marks the fourth collaboration between Simon Rich and Alex Timbers, following projects like John Mulaney’s “Kid Gorgeous” and “Oh, Hello.” Rich and Mulaney also share a history as writers on Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2011.

The creative team includes Broadway veterans like David Korins (scenic design), Jennifer Moeller (costume design), Peter Hylenski (sound design), and Lucy MacKinnon (projection design). Adding to the charm, New Yorker cartoonist Emily Flake has created original illustrations for the production.

“All In: Comedy About Love” runs through February 16, 2025, at the Hudson Theatre (141 W. 44th Street). Tickets are available now at allinbroadway.com. Whether you’re a hopeless romantic, a comedy lover, or just looking for a fun night out, this is the show for you.
