Warner Music Group’s Arts Music and Octoverse Media to Release Broadway Cast Album of Gypsy, Starring Audra McDonald
First Single Drops April 11; Full Album Arrives April 25
Warner Music Group’s Arts Music division, in partnership with Octoverse Media, announced today the upcoming release of the Gypsy: 2024 Broadway Cast Recording, starring six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald. The highly anticipated album will be available in streaming and digital formats beginning Friday, April 25. CD and vinyl editions are set to follow later this year.
To build excitement for the release, the first single, “Together, Wherever We Go,” will debut on Friday, April 11. The track features McDonald alongside co-stars Danny Burstein and Joy Woods. Fans can pre-add or pre-save the full album now at octoversemedia.lnk.to/Gypsy2024BroadwayCastRecording.
Currently playing to sold-out audiences at the newly renovated Majestic Theatre, Gypsy has already celebrated its 100th performance. Directed by six-time Tony winner George C. Wolfe, this revival has been met with widespread critical acclaim. The New York Times named it a Critic’s Pick, declaring, “Audra McDonald is take-your-breath-away great…a feat that people will talk about for generations.”
USA Today called the revival “a once-in-a-lifetime event, top-to-bottom perfection,” while Variety praised McDonald’s “electrifying” performance. The Washington Post described it as “a once-in-a-lifetime performance that you’d be crazy to miss,” and The Hollywood Reporter hailed it as “a masterful show in a beautifully acted production.”
The new cast recording is produced by David Caddick, David Lai, and Andy Einhorn, with music supervision, direction, and additional orchestrations and arrangements by Einhorn and Tony Award winner Daryl Waters.
McDonald stars as Rose, alongside Tony winner Danny Burstein as Herbie and Joy Woods as Louise. The cast also features Jordan Tyson (June), Kevin Csolak (Tulsa), Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita (Tessie Tura), Lili Thomas (Mazeppa), Mylinda Hull (Miss Electra), and a large supporting ensemble of Broadway veterans and newcomers.
Gypsy remains one of Broadway’s most enduring musicals, based on the memoirs of legendary burlesque entertainer Gypsy Rose Lee. With a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, the production dives into the complex dynamics of ambition, family, and the American dream.
The production also boasts an award-winning creative team: scenic design by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Toni-Leslie James, lighting by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, sound design by Scott Lehrer, and hair/wig design by Academy Award winner Mia Neal. Choreography is by four-time Tony nominee Camille A. Brown.
Tickets for Gypsy are on sale through August 31, 2025, and can be purchased at Telecharge.com, by phone at 212.239.6200, or in person at the Majestic Theatre box office (245 West 44th Street). Prices start at $59 (inclusive of all fees). The current performance schedule includes evening and matinee shows Tuesday through Sunday.
The album's first single, “Together, Wherever We Go,” will be available at octoversemedia.lnk.to/TogetherWhereverWeGo.
