THE GALA EVENT SAW JUDY GARLAND'S DAUGHTER LORNA LUFT INAUGURATE THE FRAGRANCE CREATED BY COSMETIC CHEMIST VINCENZO SPINNATO
Hollywood legend - singer, and actress Judy Garland's 100th birthday was commemorated on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the historic Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, with the launch of a limited-edition, premium gender-neutral perfume after her name - Judy - A Garland Fragrance created and developed by cosmetic chemist, Vincenzo Spinnato.
The celebratory event was graced with guests including Garland’s daughter - singer, actress, and author Lorna Luft and her family, Academy award-winning actress Margaret O’Brien, West Hollywood Mayor, Lauren Meister, and more.
The spectacular evening had a display of the Get Happy! Exhibit featuring memorabilia and screen-worn costumes from “The Wizard of Oz,” “Meet Me in St. Louis” and “Easter Parade.” West Hollywood Mayor Lauren Meister presented a proclamation marking June 10th as “Judy Garland Day,” and a live fashion “window display” of six re-imagined and inspired-by dresses Judy Garland wore at the height of her career, designed by House of Racanelli had the crowds mesmerized. Gourmet fragrance-inspired flavored chocolate bars and a grand birthday cake were offered by renowned Chök of Barcelona, Spain.
Old Hollywood nostalgia came alive in 'Judy - A Garland Fragrance': a sophisticated, modernized fragrance inspired by what Judy Garland herself wore. This unisex fine fragrance showcases a hint of the official Judy Garland Rose with the addition of Dark Orchid, Coriander, and a medley of sultry Gourmand and spice notes, newly creating an all-inclusive and gender-neutral fine fragrance. Essences of the fragrance's ingredients were on display around the beautiful inner courtyard for people to smell and have an immersive experience.

Lorna Luft, along with Judy Garland's elder daughter, Oscar-winner Liza Minnelli (who was unable to attend the celebration), and The Judy Garland Heirs Trust, signed with Vincenzo Spinnato's Turnkey Beauty, Inc., to develop and create 'Judy - A Garland Fragrance'. Vincenzo Spinnato said, “This has been an immense undertaking to honor such an icon, millions of people around the world adore still today. I’m very proud to have had such a close hand in every detail of this event and fragrance creation to make the Garland family proud!”
“Vince and I created a unisex fine fragrance that captures the essence of Judy Garland and evokes memories of our mother,” said Lorna Luft.
"It is wonderful to be able to celebrate my mother’s legacy in this special way. She would have been thrilled!” added Liza Minnelli.
Having a gender-neutral, inclusive fragrance would have been important for Judy Garland as she was an ardent supporter of the LGBTQIA community. Both Lorna and Liza emphasized this aspect during the development of the fragrance. Her birthday is celebrated with passion and admiration every year by the community, especially since it falls during pride month, June.
