Surati's HOLI HAI - Saturday, June 18th

Annual NJ Hudson River Color Walk & Festival of Dance, Music & Colors
Marks the End of Spring on Saturday

Hello, New York and New Jersey, it's time to wake up and get ready to celebrate HOLI HAI, Surati's HOLI HAI to be exact. This is the largest and longest-running Color Walk and Festival of Dance, Music, and Colors and it is celebrating its 13th year in Jersey City and Hoboken on Saturday, June 18th.  This is the official culmination of the spring season.

Participants will begin their colorful journey at City Hall in Jersey City (280 Grove Street) at 9 a.m., where they will officially register for the event, participate in dance and yoga workshops and enjoy performances of Indian classical jazz fusion, African dance, and traditional Indian folk dances.

At 11 a.m., revelers will join in a color countdown and embark on the Color Walk from Jersey City to Hoboken along the Hudson River, which will involve beating drums, color throwing, and lots of cheering and dancing. Upon arrival at the Hoboken train station, Mayor Ravi Bhalla will welcome the group and escort them to Pier A Park, where the partying will continue from noon to 8 p.m. with food vendors, clothing, and jewelry stands, and live dance and music performances, as well as a DJ. In pre-COVID times, this event has attracted more than 10,000 people during the entire day.
