There's no getting around the fact that COVID impacted the Broadway community deeply.
But Broadway is back, with verve and creativity, and it is here to stay.
Ariana DeBose’s opening number was tremendous, killing it in her white sequined body suit and tails. Not my favorite look but she held her own.
Here's the question, will Joaquina Kalukango’s roof-raising performance and award win for “Paradise Square” help the struggling box office?
This play was plagued by COVID disruptions which naturally made the 2021-2022 season a rough one for a lot of shows, including “Paradise Square,” the historical epic that’s been struggling to fill seats since it opened in the spring.
But During the Tony telecast, TV audiences got to witness the performer Kalukango’s power.
Hope that the spotlight will move the interest of audiences to see “Paradise Square”.
