Broadway’s Sunset Blvd. adds Six Final Performances

Nicole Scherzinger Adds Six Final Performances to Her “History-Making” Run in Broadway’s Sunset Blvd. Due to Overwhelming Demand

Nicole Scherzinger is not ready for her close-up to end just yet.

Due to overwhelming demand, the Broadway revival of Sunset Blvd. has announced six additional performances featuring Olivier Award winner and Grammy nominee Nicole Scherzinger in her critically acclaimed role as Norma Desmond. The extended schedule offers fans a final opportunity to witness what The Wall Street Journal calls a “history-making performance” before the show concludes its limited engagement at the St. James Theatre on Sunday, July 13.

Directed by Jamie Lloyd, whose electrifying vision has redefined the iconic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Sunset Blvd. has been a box office and critical sensation since its Broadway debut last October. Scherzinger’s portrayal of the faded silent film star has been hailed across the board—“career-defining” (The New York Times), “volcanic” (USA Today), and “rapturous” (The Washington Post).

Scherzinger will now take the stage on six additional Tuesday evenings: April 8, April 29, May 6, May 13, May 27, and June 10.

“Being able to play Norma for the past 18 months, first on the West End and now on Broadway, has been the gift of a lifetime,” said Scherzinger in a statement. “These six extra performances are my way of saying thank you to the fans who made this journey unforgettable.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber, the legendary composer, added, “Nicole Scherzinger gives a performance for the ages and we are thrilled there are now more chances to see it.”

The revival features 2024 Olivier Award winner Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, 2024 Olivier Award nominee Grace Hodgett Young as Betty Schaefer, and Olivier winner David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling. Lloyd’s direction—intimate, daring, and visually arresting—has brought new urgency to the noir drama, drawing widespread acclaim and topping “Best of the Year” lists in The New York Times, Deadline, Los Angeles Times, and Playbill.

This Broadway run follows a record-breaking West End debut in 2023, where the production swept the Olivier Awards with eight wins, including Best Revival, Best Actress for Scherzinger, and Best Director for Lloyd.

Based on the classic 1950 film by Billy Wilder, Sunset Blvd. tells the haunting story of Norma Desmond, a forgotten screen siren determined to make a triumphant return to the silver screen. When struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis stumbles into her decaying Hollywood mansion, a dangerous relationship forms—filled with dreams, delusion, and eventual destruction.

The production features scenic and costume design by Soutra Gilmour, choreography by Fabian Aloise, music supervision by Alan Williams, and lighting by Jack Knowles. The album Sunset Blvd.: The Album, recorded live in London’s West End, is available now via The Other Songs.

Tickets are available at www.sunsetblvdbroadway.com and via SeatGeek.

For those longing to see Broadway’s most dazzling star turn of the season, this is the final curtain call not to miss.
