No Scrubs. Just Legends.
TLC is headed to the stage. The legendary trio that redefined pop, hip-hop, and R&B in the ‘90s—Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas—are getting their (mostly true) story told in a brand-new musical. CrazySexyCool – The Musical will have its world premiere in June 2026 at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., launching an 8-week run as part of the theater’s 75th anniversary season.
Produced by Bill Diggins’ Diggit Theatrical Group with Tony Award-nominated executive producer Stephen Gabriel, the production is written and directed by visionary storyteller Kwame Kwei-Armah (One Love: The Bob Marley Musical). Expect a high-energy blend of bold choreography by Chloe O. Davis, powerhouse performances, and the iconic hits that made TLC global superstars—“Waterfalls,” “Creep,” “Unpretty,” “No Scrubs,” and more.
But this isn’t just a concert in costume. It’s the heart, heat, and sisterhood behind the headlines. From massive success to painful losses, from creative clashes to lifelong bonds, CrazySexyCool – The Musical goes beyond the music to uncover the story of three women who stuck together—and changed the game.
“TLC completely changed the game,” said producer Bill Diggins. “Their music gave a voice to women everywhere. But this is bigger than just the music—it’s about sisterhood, survival, and standing strong.”
“Bringing our story to the stage is a dream come true,” said Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins. “We’ve toured the world, but this is a brand-new chapter for us.”
“It’s our story—mostly fact, with a sprinkle of fiction,” added Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. “And of course, it comes with all your favorite hits.”

Why TLC Still Matters
Before there was Beyoncé, there was TLC. With over 85 million records sold, four multi-platinum albums, and five Grammy Awards, TLC is still the best-selling female group of all time. They didn’t just top charts—they changed culture.
Their look? Unapologetically bold. Their sound? Instantly iconic. Their message? Loud and clear: be fearless, be yourself, and don’t take any mess. From the empowering lyrics of “Unpretty” to the social impact of “Waterfalls,” TLC used their music to speak truth, long before it was a trend.
And they’re still influencing the next generation. Artists like Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Doja Cat, Rihanna, BLACKPINK, and Ari Lennox all cite TLC as inspiration. Even Beyoncé has said TLC “influenced just about every female group that’s out there now.”
From Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip to Fanmail, they pushed boundaries in every direction. They were futuristic, fierce, and always real. Their music, their message, and their style continue to inspire—and now, they’re taking their story to the stage.
Because legends don’t fade. They evolve.
