The Broadway production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow continues its run at the Marquis Theatre, following a dominant awards season in which it won four Tony Awards—the most of any play in the 2024–25 Broadway season.
Written by Kate Trefry and based on an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Trefry, and Jack Thorne, the production serves as a theatrical prequel to the Netflix series Stranger Things. Directed by Stephen Daldry with co-direction by Justin Martin, the play is rooted in the show’s mythology and has drawn both critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase.
The cast features 2024 Tony nominee Louis McCartney and Emmy nominee Gabrielle Neveah. In a recent review, the Los Angeles Times called the production “mind-blowing and spectacular,” praising its scale and immersive design.
