“Euphoria” Brings Its Season 3 Premiere to Coachella, Marking a First for Television
HBO Max will debut the third season of Euphoria during the opening weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, in what appears to be the first time a television series has premiered an episode at the festival.
The screening is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, at 11:59 p.m. PT in the Coachella campgrounds, following the evening’s final performance. The late-night timing places the show in the middle of the festival’s most communal setting, where attendees gather after the main stage lights go down.
Created by Sam Levinson and led by Zendaya, Euphoria has become one of HBO’s defining series of the past decade. Since its debut, the show has drawn attention for its portrayal of adolescence, addiction, and identity, as well as its distinct visual style and music-driven storytelling.
The third season continues with an ensemble cast that includes Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Toby Wallace. The series is produced in partnership with A24.
The full season premieres the same night on HBO at 9 p.m. ET/PT and will stream on HBO Max, with new episodes released weekly.
Access to the Coachella screening will be limited to festival attendees and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. A festival wristband is required.
The decision to bring Euphoria to Coachella reflects a broader shift in how television is being presented—moving beyond traditional premieres and into spaces where audiences are already gathering.
