“The Circuit” Extends Its Silent Disco Ballet Through July 12

Apparently, Brooklyn is not finished dancing in the street.

New York Theatre Company has extended THE CIRCUIT: An Immersive Silent Disco Ballet for two more weeks, giving the pulse-driven production a new closing date of July 12, 2026. Originally scheduled to end June 29, the show will continue its run in DUMBO, where dance, theater, headphones, and the city itself are all part of the choreography.

Inspired by Arthur Schnitzler’s La Ronde, THE CIRCUIT takes the old theatrical carousel of desire, intimacy, chance encounters, and emotional consequences, then drops it into a very modern Brooklyn night. Audience members wear wireless headphones and move alongside the performers as the story travels through choreography, spoken text, and an original EDM score. It is ballet with a nightlife pulse, theater with a moving address, and the rare production where standing still may be the only wrong move.

The piece is co-directed by Josh Zacher and John Kroft, choreographed by Zacher, and written by Connor Wentworth, with an original score and sound design by Jacob Ryan Smith and associate sound design by Anna Tobin. Together, the creative team turns DUMBO into something between a stage, a dream, and a very elegant after-hours confession.

Part of the pleasure of THE CIRCUIT is that it does not ask audiences to simply sit back and behave. It places them inside the action, close enough to feel the charge between strangers, the ache of missed connection, and the strange glamour of watching a city become theatrical in real time.
