Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth! will premiere as the Centerpiece selection of the 64th New York Film Festival, giving Searchlight Pictures one of the fall’s most closely watched prestige titles. The drama is set to screen on October 2 at Alice Tully Hall, with Gilroy, Pedro Pascal, and additional cast members expected to attend.

The film stars Pascal as Alex Serian, a gifted cellist returning to Los Angeles after 20 years on the road, according to the official teaser. The trailer positions the story as an introspective music-world drama about homecoming, memory, and the pull of an unfinished life.

Gilroy wrote and directed the film after building a career that includes Michael Clayton, the Bourne films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Andor. The cast also includes Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, Alexa Swinton, Kaya Ralls, Erik Griffin, JoBeth Williams, Margarita Levieva, Hank Azaria, and Will Arnett.

Searchlight has dated Behemoth! for December 4, 2026, placing it squarely in awards-season territory after its festival launch. The 64th New York Film Festival runs from September 25 through October 12.
